Between 26th June – 5th July, the Northern Network went on the road to our pilot Hubs across the North of England for our first-ever Big Green Festival.
The aim was for each of our pilot hubs to run a special open day providing their unique local communities with a showcase of what they, and the Northern Network, can offer.
Each Hub offered something different and the open days ranged from an informal afternoon drop-in with family-friendly activities such as bug hunting and flower spotting at West Gorton Community Park, to a packed programme of talks and stalls for visitors to engage in at @TheGrange in Blackpool.
Meanwhile, there was yoga and wood whittling to enjoy at Horton Community Farm in Bradford. And, Workington Community Hub got busy with hedge laying and stone painting.
We met all kinds of people from local service providers and potential new partners, to residents, volunteers, and beneficiaries. The celebration was a great success and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
